After a year of much uncertainty and upheaval, the kids are very excited about a new school year in HFL Schools which will begin next week. Please pray for them that their enthusiasm will be rewarded and it will be a beneficial year. Thanks to all who support these kiddos!

A 7.3 earthquake struck the southern portion of Haiti this morning. We have been in contact with our leaders in both Port au Prince and Lagonave and they along with their families are safe with no damage. Definitely areas of damage near the city of Jacmel. Please pray for the Haitian people.
A constant theme of prayer for the Island of Haiti has concerned the political upheaval of the past three years. Last night, Jovenel Moise, the president of Haiti, was assassinated and his wife critically injured. This signifies a more extreme undermining of the safety and security of the whole country in days to come. Thankfully both our students and teachers are safe.
Please join us in prayer for reform and a restoration of peace in Haiti. Please also pray for Jovenel Moise’s family and all those affected by his death.
Despite the many challenges Haiti continues to experience, we are grateful to report that HFL schools continue to thrive by the grace of God. From Pre-K to soon to be HFL graduates, many thanks to those who have stood with us as partners in ministry. Our focus will remain education and job creation. Please continue to pray for all our students and families in Haiti.
Please pray for Haiti. The continual political upheaval has left the people of Haiti upset and weary. The concern about the spread of Covid19 still lingers as well.
We are assured that God works even through the hardest of times and we ask you to keep Haiti, our students, and our staff in your prayers.
On behalf of all Hope for LaGonave faculty, students, and families, we sincerely thank you. ![]()
We remain grateful for your prayers and dedicated support. With your help we are now able to provide an education and meals to over 500 students as well as providing much needed jobs to 74 locals. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you.

We continue to lift up many HFL sponsors and friends who have suffered a direct hit from Laura.
Tropical Storm Laura is being blamed for killing least 11 people as it battered Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico over the weekend with high winds and flooding. At least nine people died in Haiti and two are missing, the Associated Press reported.![]()
Now that the rain and winds have subsided in Lagonave, our leadership team is assessing what damage our school buildings have sustained. Prayers are appreciated for those who have lost loved ones as well as the many with major losses to property. We will post an additional update as details unfold. Thank you. ![]()

Grateful for our leadership team in Lagonave and special collaboration opportunities with local missions to supply masks, Clorox, and food to both our students as well as other vulnerable areas of LaGonave. Please continue to keep both LaGonave and HFL in your prayers as cases of COVID19 begin to emerge on the island.
In the midst of this trying time, we invite all of our friends to go to our website and subscribe to receive email updates about LaGonave and our work there.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support.
As our world keeps struggles with sickness that keeps spreading, we ask our readers to be especially aware of the areas that are particularly vulnerable. In Haiti, there have been 33 confirmed cases of COVID19 and 3 deaths. Many Haitians do not have the resources like shelter, medical expertise, or funds to be treated. We pray that the spread of this virus will be minimal. Thankfully, our Lord has thus far preserved LaGonave from COVID19. There have not been any diagnosed cases on the island and we are keeping in contact with our team to keep you up to date.
Please join us in praying for the protection of our staff, students, and their families. We are administering food distributions to help the families who need it most. We thank all of those who have made us able to help the beloved people of LaGonave and ask for your continued support during this increasingly difficult time. God bless.
